Habima is Hebrew for “the stage,” and Habima Hess is the name for our Circus Camp. You’ll learn a variety of circus arts in this intensive program: ball walking, plate spinning, poi (balls on strings), diabolo (Chinese yo-yo), acrobatics, rope climbing, silks, juggling, tightrope walking, and more. Each 2-week session culminates in a performance for family and friends in the APJCC Auditorium at 2:30pm on the last Friday of the camp session, complete with costumes, make-up, music, props and circus equipment.

Ages: Grades K-6

Circus campers are divided into two groups, one for campers entering grades K-2, and one for campers entering grades 3-6.

For circus campers in grades K-2, we provide a special program that is half-day circus, half-day traditional camp. Campers get all the fun and excitement of the circus program in the morning and follow it up in the afternoon with traditional camp activities such as swimming, art, and science. Campers in grades K-2 are included, along with campers in grades 3-6, in the end-of-session show.

For circus campers in grades 3-6, we offer a full-day circus camp experience so you can perfect your circus skills.
