Sabra is for campers who will be entering 1st grade in the fall.

 

Sabra campers are full of ruach (spirit) and Camp Shalom energy! A day in the life of a Sabra camper is jam-packed with activities and creative play. With an emphasis on trying new things, each Sabra track is full of opportunities to create and explore.

 

Dates & Times

Register for one-week sessions from Monday, June 8 through Friday, August 14. No camp on Friday, July 3.

 

Regular camp hours are 9:00am-4:00pm daily. Extended care is available before and after camp.

The registration deadline is May 22, 2020. Campers must be registered and paid in full by May 22. Registrations received after May 22 are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Registrations received after May 22 must be received no later than 2 weeks prior to a session start date. This allows us to staff appropriately for the summer.

 

Camp Tracks

Sabra has something new for summer 2020: camp tracks! Register for a special track for each week, focusing on a theme or type of activity.

 

Tracks are available during the first 8 weeks of camp. Weeks 9 & 10 don’t have tracks; instead campers get to participate in a wide variety of the summer’s best activities.

Sabra athletes will experience a variety of their favorite traditional sports like basketball and soccer and will also enjoy new and invented games and activities.

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The Sports track is available during Weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Sabra campers in the Swimming track will enjoy all things water! Campers get to swim at least 4 days per week, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. This group will receive swim lessons every day and will also have plenty of time for recreational swimming. We will also have time on land to participate in wet and wild fun!

Sabra campers go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The swimming track is available during Weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7.

If you’re a lover of strategy and fun, this is the right camp for you! Join your friends in a week full of games like chess, cards games, board games and more. The group will also have the chance to create their own games from scratch!

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The Games, Games, Games track is available during Weeks 5 and 7.

Visual Arts & Cooking campers will paint, bake, chop, sculpt and more. Using a variety of different materials, these visual and culinary artists will get creative and express themselves. On cooking days, campers will be permitted to eat their creations! If your camper has dietary restrictions, please let us know early so reasonable accommodation can be made.

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The  Visual Arts & Cooking  track is available during Weeks 1 and 3.

Arts & Crafts campers will be in DIY heaven as they use a variety of media to explore their creative sides. Through drawing, painting, pasting, and more, imaginations will run wild!

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The  Arts & Crafts  track is available during Weeks 5 and 7.

Young chefs will have a chance to gain confidence in their cooking skills as they follow recipes and make culinary creations inspired by cultures all over the world! Campers will learn all about different flavors and kitchen safety in this spicy camp!

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The  Cooking  track is available during Weeks 6 and 8.

Performing Arts campers will become storytellers as they flex their performance muscles! Campers will learn about different ways to tell stories through acting, singing, dancing and more!

The  Performing Arts  track is available during Weeks 2 and 4.

STEAM campers will experience hands-on science fun as they expand their scientific knowledge and develop an appreciation for our natural world. Each week will feature experiments, exploration, and special guest instructors.

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The  STEAM  track is available during Weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Campers in the Dagesh (Hebrew Immersion) track will experience the best of Camp Shalom, partaking in art, science, sports, cooking and more, all while practicing speaking Hebrew! Whether your child already speaks Hebrew or is just starting out, this group will be fun-filled with plenty of time to practice!

Campers will get to swim two times per week in the JCC’s heated outdoor pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors. Sabra campers will also go on weekly field trips every Thursday.

The Hebrew Immersion track is available during Weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7.

Run away and join the circus! You’ll learn a variety of circus arts in this intensive program: ball walking, plate spinning, acrobatics, aerial skills, juggling, tightrope walking and more.

Circus campers will also get to swim twice a week in the JCC’s heated outdoor swimming pool, supervised by certified lifeguards and counselors.

The Circus track is available during Weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Can’t get enough of Camp Shalom? Join us for this extended edition of camp. Instead of choosing specialized tracks, during “Post-Camp”  campers will get to experience a wide variety of activities including art, sports, science, and swimming!

Campers will be divided by age group.

Post-Camp is available during Weeks 9 and 10.

All Sabra campers (except Circus campers) will go on weekly field trips each Thursday throughout the summer. Field trips offer campers new experiences away from the regular camp setting.
