As a counselor-in-training (C.I.T.) at Camp Shalom, you’ll gain the skills necessary to lead! This program, led by former camper, CIT, and staff member Sam Wigon, is a challenging and exciting adventure that will give you the skills to effectively work with children of all ages! You will have the chance to practice these skills in a supportive setting with feedback and mentorship, all while learning to enhance your professional and academic development — all the ingredients for you to develop the life skills you’ll need to succeed at camp, school, and in the workplace. CITs will receive certification in CPR and First Aid and earn 120 hours of community service for each completed 4-week session. COVID safety protocols are observed.
Yoetz is for campers who will be entering 9th or 10th grade in the fall. The word “yoetz” means “counselor” in Hebrew, and becoming a camp counselor is what our C.I.T. program is all about.
Each Yoetz session is four weeks long. You can register for one or both sessions.
- Yoetz Session 1: June 7-July 2
- Yoetz Session 2: July 5-30
Fees per 4-week session are $440 for JCC members, and $525 for non-members.
Multi-Session Discount: Yoetz campers are not eligible for a multi-session discount.
